T3 Terminal in Tan Son Nhat Airport Completed on April 30
Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air will officially relocate their domestic flight operations to the newly completed T3 Terminal at Tan Son Nhat Airport after April 30, 2024. This was confirmed by the airport authority during a March 13 announcement, as the city gears up for the terminal’s grand opening following the holiday travel peak.
Meanwhile, other airlines—Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, Vasco, and Vietravel Airlines—will continue to operate from the existing T1 terminal.

Vietnam’s Largest Domestic Terminal Ready for Takeoff
With a total investment of nearly VND 11 trillion, the T3 terminal adds capacity for 20 million domestic passengers per year, increasing Tan Son Nhat’s overall handling to 50 million passengers annually.
The terminal spans 112,500 sqm and includes:
- 1 basement and 4 upper floors
- 90 check-in counters and 20 auto bag-drop kiosks
- 42 self-check-in kiosks and 27 boarding gates
It also features a 130,000 sqm parking and commercial complex with four stories above ground and two basements, designed to accommodate both cars and non-aviation services.
Infrastructure Upgrades to Support T3 Connectivity
To ensure smooth access, the city is investing VND 4,800 billion into the Trần Quốc Hoàn – Cộng Hòa road project, expected to open alongside the T3 terminal. This road will relieve chronic congestion in the airport area.
In addition, critical segments of the Bến Lức – Long Thành expressway and five other highway projects are set to open around April 30, supporting nationwide transportation upgrades.
National Infrastructure Boom Continues
By late April, several expressway segments across Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Bình, Đồng Nai, and Khánh Hòa are projected to be completed, including:
- Bãi Vọt – Hàm Nghi (35 km)
- Hàm Nghi – Vũng Áng (54 km)
- Vũng Áng – Bùng (55 km)
- Bùng – Vạn Ninh (49 km)
- Vân Phong – Nha Trang (83 km)
These projects are part of the North-South Expressway Phase 2, which aims to create a seamless highway link from Lạng Sơn to Cà Mau by 2025.
